Founded in 2002 through the initiative of GM Smbat Lputian, under the auspices of the Armenian Chess Federation, and supported by the Armenian Government, the Chess Academy of Armenia is the leading center of chess training and organization in Armenia today. The Academy’s mission is multi-faceted: preparing tomorrow’s elite players and trainers to maintain Armenia ’s position as an epicenter in the chess world, organizing top-class chess tournaments attracting top chess players worldwide, and popularizing chess throughout the nation, primarily through its ever-growing network of affiliated chapters.

Andranik Margaryan Memorial - 2012

Chess Academy of Armenia is organizing from 8-17 January, 2012 Andranik Margaryan Memorial: round robin system with Grandmaster norm and Swiss system. The games start at 15:00.
The participants of the round robin are GM Evgeny Sveshnikov from Latvia, GM Giorgi Bagaturov from Georgia, IM Vladimir Belous from Russia, IM Idani Pouya from Iran, GM David Petrosian, GM Gevorg Harutyunyan, IM Ashot Nadanian, IM David Kalashian, IM Hovik Hayrapetyan, Vahe Baghdasaryan, Haik Vardanian and FM Hovhannes Gabuzyan from Armenia.
