The “Goris Open” is officially underway!

On November 12, Goris has become the chess capital, welcoming players from different countries.

The opening ceremony took place at Goris Hotel in a festive and inspiring atmosphere.

The event was attended by Irina Yolyan, Deputy Mayor of Goris; Smbat Lputian, Founder and Director of the Chess Academy of Armenia and International Grandmaster; and Artur Khojabaghyan, President of the Syunik Chess Federation.

In their welcoming remarks, the speakers emphasized the importance of such tournaments for both athletic and educational development, highlighting Goris’ role as a cultural and intellectual center.
