The visit of the third President of the Republic of Armenia to the Chess Academy of Armenia

Today the third President of the Republic of Armenia and the President of the Armenian Chess Federation, Serzh Sargsyan,  visited the Chess Academy of Armenia to observe the ongoing 16th Andranik Margaryan Memorial.

Also present were GM Smbat Lputyan, Founder and President of the Chess Academy of Armenia, Armen Gevorgyan, executive director of the Armenian Chess Federation, as well as Board Members Taron Margaryan and Aghasi Inants.

During the visit, they followed the games of the Swiss-system tournament, which this year brings together 630 young chess players from Yerevan and all the regions of Armenia, and then observed the round-robin tournament, where players from Armenia, Russia, Georgia, India, and Moldova are competing for International Master and Grandmaster norms.
