
Hayk Khachikyan was born on May 13, 1985 in Gavar. Studied at the Yerevan State University, faculty of International Relations.
Hayk Khachikyan is considered one of the best coaches of the Chess Academy of Armenia.
Education
1993-1997 studied at the Giotto School of Fine Arts.
2002 graduated from Yerevan Secondary school N 56 after Stepan Zoryan.
2012 graduated from Yerevan State University, Faculty of International Relations, department of Political Science. Awarded a Master’s degree in political science.

Working experience
- In 2013-2023 worked at the basic school No. 8 after Alexander Pushkin
- Since 2014 has been working at Davtashen Chess School
- In 2015-2023 thaught at Gavar State University and implemented Chess Theory and Practice. Hayk Khachikyan is an author of a number of scientific articles. About a dozen of his students, who succeeded in exams, received three-year certificates for teaching the subject of "Chess".
- Since 2021 has been working at the Chess Academy of Armenia as a coach

Since 2014, he has had around 60 first-category level players, many of whom have won and received prizes during international tournaments in Armenia, and who have successfully competed in the World and European Junior Championships, including:
- Two-time runner-up at the Armenian Under-10 Boys and Girls Championships.
- Two-time runner-up at the Armenian Under-12 Boys Championship.
- Champion and third-place finisher at the Yerevan Under-10 Championship.
- Three-time runner-up and one-time bronze medalist at the Yerevan Under-12 Championship.
- Two-time champion and one-time runner-up at the Yerevan Under-14 Championship.
- Champion of the Yerevan Under-16 Championship.
- Champion of the Chess House Under-8, Under-10, and Under-12 Championships.
- Champion in the Under-10 and Under-12 categories at the Stepan Avagyan International Tournament held in Jermuk.
- Second- and third-place finisher at the Stepan Avagyan International Tournament held in Jermuk.
- Second- and third-place finisher in the Under-12 category at the Andranik Margaryan Memorial Tournament.
- Two-time champion of the Kotayk Region Under-14 Boys Championship; also champion of the Under-14 Girls Championship, two-time champion of the Under-12 category, and one-time champion of the Under-10 category.
- Champion of the Ararat Region Men’s Championship.
- Champion of the Sochi Under-9 Boys Championship.
- Champion of the Boston School Chess Championship.
- Two-time champion of the Nana Alexandria Cup in the Under-1900 rating category.
