Stepan Avagyan Memorial.Jermuk-2025 International RR 17 Category Tournament Kicked off

On May 28, the opening ceremony of the Stepan Avagyan Memorial Tournament was held at the “Jermuk Ashkharh” Health Center in Jermuk.
The event honored the life and legacy of Stepan Avagyan — a true chess lover, former president of the Vayots Dzor Chess Federation, and former director of the health center.
A special documentary film, “A Bright Legacy,” was shown during the ceremony to celebrate his contributions.
Grandmaster Smbat Lputian, founder of the Chess Academy of Armenia, gave a speech, reflecting on Avagyan’s impact on this tournament. The tournament draw was carried out by IA Vahagn Khachatryan.
