The European Universities Chess Championship came to an end

On September 20, the European Universities Chess Championship came to an end.

The official closing ceremony took place at the Armenian State University of Economics in a warm and enthusiastic atmosphere.

The event was also attended by the founder and director of the Chess Academy of Armenia, Grandmaster Smbat Lputian.

In the rapid chess tournaments for men and women, as well as in the men's blitz chess tournament, the Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture and Sport was declared the winner.

In the women’s blitz chess tournament, the champion title went to the American University of Armenia.

During the ceremony, academy coach and international arbiter Gevorg Muradyan was awarded a special recognition prize as the best arbiter in the men’s division.
