The Stepan Avagyan Youth Memorial has officially kicked off

Today, the Stepan Avagyan Youth Memorial officially kicked off at the Chess Academy of Armenia, bringing together more than 460 young chess players.

During the opening ceremony, the participants were welcomed by the founder and Executive Director of the Chess Academy of Armenia, Smbat Lputian, as well as the Chief Arbiter of the tournament IA Gevorg Muradyan, who presented the tournament regulations, emphasized the importance of such events in the development of young chess players, and wished all participants successful games and exciting competition.

As part of the opening ceremony, participants and guests also watched a film dedicated to the memory of Stepan Avagyan, once again highlighting his contribution to the development of Armenian chess.

The tournament has already begun with exciting games, new friendships, healthy competition, and valuable experience that the young chess players will gain throughout these tournament days.
