International Scientific Conference “Theory and Practice of Chess Education”

2026-10-05

The International Scientific Conference “Theory and Practice of Chess Education” has concluded in Tsaghkadzor, bringing together specialists from Armenia and abroad in the fields of chess, education, psychology, and science over two days.

Held on October 1–2 at Eighty Eight Hotel & Spa, the conference explored the potential of chess as an educational tool, its impact on thinking and personal development, modern teaching methods, inclusive education, teacher training, and the role of digital technologies.

At the heart of the conference was one central idea: chess is more than a game — it is an environment for learning how to think and grow. From this perspective, the two-day programme brought together scientific research, practical experience, and new approaches, creating engaging and meaningful professional discussions.

The programme featured internationally recognized researchers, educators, chess professionals, and representatives of the education sector. Particular attention was also given to inclusive chess education and practical approaches to working with learners with different needs.

The conference served not only as a platform for exchanging knowledge, but also for building new connections, sharing ideas, and fostering cooperation, continuing the international professional dialogue on the relationship between chess and education.

The two days in Tsaghkadzor have come to an end, but the questions raised remain relevant: how can chess contribute to education, and how can we make chess an even more effective part of the learning process?
